HumanitZ Zombie Survival

HumanitZ Guide

Stay quiet, stay alive. The ultimate resource for HumanitZ survivors — zombie variants, base locations, weapon tier lists, and the routines that keep a squad fed, repaired, and unheard.

Read the full wiki → Start here

The useful way to play HumanitZ is to stop thinking in isolated loot runs and start thinking in systems: how your shelter reduces risk, how your route returns medicine and fuel, and how your squad recovers fast enough to go back out without snowballing damage. This hub is built around that rhythm — every table below solves a specific failure mode instead of padding the page.

HumanitZ is loud-by-default. Gunfire and engines act like timers that pull zeeks toward you, so the strongest players are the quietest ones. The pages linked from this portal cover stealth mechanics, base-building math, and a full weapon tier list ranked by noise as much as by damage. The deep-dive versions live on the sub-site.

Zombie Variant Compendium

Know the threat

HumanitZ has six distinct zombie variants plus a random Special Infected that spawns with one random special ability. Each requires a different approach — engaging a Tank the way you engage a Walker will get you killed. Memorize the threat before you engage.

Best Base Locations

Defense first

Base location is the most consequential decision in a HumanitZ playthrough. A good spot gives natural defenses, nearby resources, and room to expand; a bad one traps you in a death spiral of constant attacks and shortages. Six of the strongest options on the map, evaluated by safety, resources, and long-term viability.

LocationZombie ThreatResources Nearby
Riverside FarmhouseLow — natural barriers, no horde spawns within 500mWater, wood, farmland, fishing, hunting cabin NE
Police Station (Downtown)Very High — constant patrols, intense horde nightsWeapons/ammo, medical, food, building materials
Lakeside CampgroundLow-Medium — open sightlines warn you earlyWater, wood, wildlife, vehicles, fishing
Military CheckpointHigh — on a main road with daily migrationWeapons, armor, rations, fuel, salvage
Underground BunkerMinimal — single sealed entrance, safest in gameLimited; needs supply caches and rain catchers

Getting Started

First stable route
01

Stabilize the First 48 Hours

Read the beginner guide, then secure bandages, water containers, and one fallback shelter before chasing bigger loot targets. Stop the run from ending on the first mistake.

02

Turn Shelter Into a Working Base

Move into base building and crafting once your runs stop ending from noise, bleeding, or broken storage discipline. Repair benches, meds, and vehicle supplies belong near the entrance.

03

Scale Through Routes and Vehicles

Use scavenging and vehicle guides after the basics are stable so longer runs convert into fuel, medicine, and ammo efficiency instead of creating fresh crises.

Field Tips

Survival
Medicine

Carry enough cloth and pain relief to survive one bad fight. The run usually dies from the second mistake, not the first hit.

Noise

Treat gunfire and engines as timers. Every loud choice should already have an exit route attached to it.

Loot

Short medical and hardware loops beat heroic long-distance runs when your group still lacks clean storage and backup tools.

Base

Put repair benches, meds, and vehicle supplies near the entrance so recovery happens before the next emergency compounds.

FAQ

Common questions
How do I survive the first night in HumanitZ?
Find any building with doors, close them, and crouch to stay silent. Craft a Makeshift Bandage (Cloth Scrap x2 + Alcohol x1) and a basic weapon immediately. Do not use firearms at night — the noise attracts every zeek within a 50m radius. Barricade one room and wait for daylight rather than pushing into the dark.
What is the best early weapon?
The Crossbow is the best early-mid game weapon: silent, retrievable ammo, and it one-shots most zeeks with a headshot. Its noise radius is near zero at 5m, so it never triggers horde escalation. The Makeshift Baseball Bat is your reliable melee backup, and suppressed firearms only become viable in the mid-game once you have ammo stockpiles built up.
Where should I build my base?
Build near a water source and away from major roads. Elevated positions such as hilltops and radio towers give visibility and natural defense. Avoid cities entirely for a first base — too many zeeks and too few resources. A small farmhouse on the outskirts is ideal; the Riverside Farmhouse and the Underground Bunker are the safest documented options for solo players.
How do vehicles work in HumanitZ?
Vehicles need fuel, a battery, and occasional repairs. The Pickup Truck has the best storage-to-noise ratio for scavenging, while the Motorcycle is fastest but has zero storage. Never drive directly to your base — park 300m away and walk the last stretch so you do not lead hordes home. A running generator also attracts zeeks from 200m, so build walls and traps first.
What is the best base location for solo players?
The Underground Bunker in the Northern Mountains is the safest solo base — a single entrance you can seal and fortify, where zeeks cannot detect you and horde nights pass without incident. The trade-off is a long supply commute. For a balance of safety and accessibility, the Riverside Farmhouse is the best all-round solo choice.
